Tokyo Disney Halloween 2026: Full Costumes Only Sept 15–30 & Oct 16–31

Tokyo Disney Resort's Halloween season runs from Wednesday, September 16 to Saturday, October 31, 2026. Both parks — Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea — keep the same dates.

The question visitors ask most is when you can actually wear a full costume. In 2026, full costumes aren't allowed on every day of the season: they're limited to two windows, and the first half of October is left out. Note that costumes and Halloween merchandise both start one day before the season itself — on September 15, not the 16th.

This guide walks through the dates, the exact days you can wear a full costume, when the Halloween merchandise goes on sale, and which parades and shows to expect — all from the official announcement.

Full costumes are allowed only from September 15–30 and October 16–31. You cannot enter in a full costume between October 1 and 15.

2026 Dates at a Glance

Here are the dates to lock in first. Both parks share the same season, and each park runs its own parade or show.

Halloween is a special event held within normal operations, so there is no separate Halloween ticket. You still need a regular date-designated Park Ticket to enter.

Full-Costume Windows

This is the part that trips people up. In 2026, full costumes — dressing head to toe as a character — are allowed at both parks during these two windows only:

• First half: September 15 (Tue) – September 30 (Wed)
• Second half: October 16 (Fri) – October 31 (Sat)

That means October 1 (Thu) through October 15 (Thu) is outside the full-costume window. Halloween itself is still running during those two weeks, but you cannot enter in a full costume.

If dressing up is your main reason to go, plan around September 15 rather than the season's opening on the 16th.

Costume Rules and Where to Change

Tokyo Disney Resort sets detailed rules every year on which films and characters you may dress as, what outfits and props are off-limits, and where you may change. These rules are revised from time to time.

For that reason, this guide doesn't rule individual cases in or out. If you plan to dress up, check the official costume page for the current rules before you start putting an outfit together.

One more thing: there is no place to change inside the park. Put on your costume and makeup at home or at your hotel before you arrive. If that isn't an option — on a day trip, for instance — there is a paid changing space at Ikspiari, just outside the parks, which you reserve in advance.

Parades, Shows, and Fireworks

Each park runs its own entertainment during this period.

At Tokyo Disneyland, the villains take the lead in the parade "The Villains Halloween: Into the Frenzy" (Japanese: ザ・ヴィランズ・ハロウィーン). It runs about 45 minutes, once a day, with six floats. Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog leads the way as Mickey and friends are pulled into a villains' party.

At Tokyo DisneySea, "Disney Halloween Greeting" (Japanese: ディズニー・ハロウィーン・グリーティング) takes place on Mediterranean Harbor. It runs about 15 minutes, twice a day, with Mickey, Minnie, Duffy, ShellieMay, and others in Halloween costumes.

On top of that, both parks get the fireworks show "Nighttime High Halloween" (Japanese: ナイトハイ・ハロウィーン), which lasts about five minutes.

Start times shift from day to day, and entertainment can be changed or canceled in bad weather. Check the park's operating hours and the official app on the day itself before you plan around a specific show.

Halloween Merchandise and Food (from September 15)

Halloween-limited merchandise and food go on sale on September 15 (Tue), 2026 — the same day the first full-costume window opens.

Expect villain-themed goods, items built around the original Halloween characters "Kowagari Obake-chan" and "Kabo-Lantern," and products themed on the film Coco (Remember Me). For specific product names and prices, check the official merchandise listings.

Other Events Running at the Same Time

Tokyo DisneySea has two more events overlapping the Halloween season. Their dates don't line up exactly, so check each one if you have a favorite.

• "Lazos de la Familia," themed on the film Coco: September 16 (Wed) – November 2 (Mon), with a larger area than last year.
• Duffy & Friends' new program "Autumn Surprise!": August 25 (Tue) – November 1 (Sun). It starts before Halloween and runs past it.
