Toyama, on the Sea of Japan coast about two hours from Tokyo by Hokuriku Shinkansen: Owara Kaze no Bon in Yatsuo every September 1-3, the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, and the shiro-ebi (white shrimp) and winter yellowtail of Toyama Bay.
